Washington DC Vlog

Mbote Mes Amis!

I hope everyone is doing well. I wanted to share with you all our fun weekend trip to Washington, DC.

I was asked to be a Panelist at a conference. The conference theme was reimagining diaspora engagement through technology. It also focused on mentorship and networking. I was lucky enough to share a stage with Sarah Kazadi, Coach John Nyembo, and Roger Muntu. We had a very lively chat and answered some fantastic questions.

The best part of the conference was meeting all the wonderful attendees, panelists and sharing the experience with my daughter. After listening to the first panel she wrote me a list on how to be an effective Panelist. She even shared her expertise with some of the attendees on how to get your parents to listen to you. She’s really good at presenting her arguments.

After the conference, we headed back to the Ritz Carlton to relax and get ready for dinner. We had a great dinner at Al Tiramisu. The service was great and the food was yummy. Afterward, we changed into our pajamas and had drinks at the Ritz Carlton bar called Quadrant 10. Georgette had ice cream and I had Champagne. We asked Abdul for a blanket and he found us two tablecloths for Georgette to use. It did the trick! She was able to lie down and relax and I was able to enjoy my champagne.

The next day we toured the Georgetown area and had lunch at Cafe Milano. Our trip to DC was very short but productive. I’m looking forward to going back and actually touring the historical sites. I hope you enjoy our DC vlog.
