One Horizon provides programs that encourage economic sustainability, education, farming and more to communities in and around Nairobi through sustainable tourism experiences for people from around the world. They deliver and manage about 50 different programs, some of which help entire communities by providing them with irrigation, fresh water, electricity, biogas and ablution blocks as well as sporting and housing resettlement programs.

We have partnered up with some of the Maasai women who are part of the one horizon community by supporting their craftsmanship and sharing it with the world.

PRODIGE HANDS

Prodige Hands is an organization devoted to rebuilding systems of care and support in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Congo has been affected by man-made disasters and war while the natural resources have been pillaged and fought over for decades. Prodige Hands provides medical relief, preventive care, secures housing and education for those most affected. Adolophine and Prodige Hands are currently working on providing for an orphanage in Kinshasa. The orphanage is managed by Padre Hugo Rios along with volunteers. We hope to set processes, structure and help finance the work of this critical orphanage. Your purchase will help us meet those goals.

NYAMIRAMBO WOMEN'S CENTER

Nyamirambo Women’s Center (NWC), a Rwandan NGO, was launched at the end of 2007 by 18 Rwandese women living in Nyamirambo, Kigali. Together they created a project which aimed to address gender-based violence, gender inequality and discrimination. Today, NWC’s mission is to provide education and vocational training to women who do not have the means to pay for such training on their own, so that they can gain better opportunities for employment. Adolophine supports the Nyamirambo women’s center in Rwanda and others like this by helping to promote and empower the women through exposing their products to our market.

BAMBINO SCHOOL, KINSHASA

As an Alumni of the The Bambino School in Kinshasa, Adolophine attended the Bambino Maternal and primary division during her youth. The school was founded by the dynamic and inspiring director Mr. Bangala who passed away a few years ago. The school has been a place of refuge, curiosity, wonderment and high academic achievement for many people over time. In order to bring it back to its original splendor, the Adolophine team has partnered with the school to refurbish certain classrooms, update their technology, and give it a fresh look for the current students and future scholars.

LES AMIS DE MULUNDA & GEORGETTE ASSOCIATION

Les Amis de Mulunda et Georgette Association (LAMGA) is a non-profit organization that was created as a response to a call to help the re-development of the Congo. The president of the DRC put out a call to action to all Congolese in the diaspora. We responded by forming this organization. LAMGA is a professional development program where the youth of the Congo can perfect their crafts in their respective creative industries. LAMGA is building future entrepreneurs by empowering the Congo’s large youth population and by teaching things like business development, financial literacy and marketing. The access to valuable resources and mentors that this organization provides to the creatives and makers in the Congo will be a vital part of the country’s rebuilding process.
